Our Stars

We use a selection of the country's finest musicians, singers and entertainers to recreate the Rat Pack magic for you. Here are a few of our regulars:

 

Rat Pack Legends Musical Supervisor Barry Robinson graduated from the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles to become resident musical director of the famous Sporting Club in Monte Carlo where he worked alongside such stars as Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole and original Rat Packer - Sammy Davis Jr. Since then he has toured extensively with various groups including the Temptations, The Three Degrees, The Supremes and Rose Royce.

He was Musical Director for Helen Shapiro, which included a UK tour, a tribute broadcast for BBC Radio 2 and a short season at the Green Room Café Royal. Barry has also conducted two special gala concerts as a Tribute to Judy Garland. Some of the other artists he has worked with include Michael Ball, Lesley Garratt, Kevin Spacey, Cliff Richard, Kiki Dee, Madeline Bell, Salena Jones, Joe Longthorne, Lily Savage, Des O'Connor, Bradley Walsh, Jane McDonald and Tony Hadley.  In addition he has written and played for numerous Corporate and trade Shows for such clients as Disney, BMW, Jaguar, VW, Bank Of Scotland and Mercedes.  His many television credits include the Prince's Trust Concert, Variety Club Awards, Indie Awards, Olivier Awards, Children in Need, Good Food Awards, The 5'Oclock Show and The Big Stage.  He also composed and arranged the theme music for the Midas Touch for Carlton Television.

Barry has been involved with a number of West End productions, and has been Musical Director of many musicals, including "Fame" at the Cambridge Theatre, "Smokey Joe's Café", both at the Prince of Wales and on the UK Tour. He later became the show's Musical Supervisor, whilst also holding the position of Associate Conductor on "Saturday Night Fever" at the London Palladium.  As Musical Director he completed the Millennium tour of "Magic of the Musicals" with Marti Webb and Dave Willetts. He was also Musical Director  for "Ain't Misbehavin', and  "Salute to Sinatra" with Louis Hoover. His more recent ventures in the West End have been as the original Musical Director of "The Rat Pack" and "The Genius Of Ray Charles". He was also Musical Director for the hit show "Hot Stuff" at the Leicester Haymarket. He has more recently been working as vocal supervisor on "Spirit Of Christmas" "Spirit of Broadway", and "Dancing Queen". Barry completed a UK tour of the Dean Martin tribute show "That's Amore" in the spring of this year and has just returned from the US as Musical Director for the legendary Mickey Rooney.

 

Gary Williams

Gary WilliamsGary has played Sinatra in the West End’s ‘Rat Pack’ show as well as throughout Europe on tour. He’s toured his own show ‘The Legend of Sinatra’ and recreated Old Blue Eyes for corporate events and private parties all over the UK. A veteran of the big band scene he has worked with the BBC Big Band, Syd Lawrence Orchestra and orchestras like the Hallé, CBSO and RLPO. Gary has also taken the role of Dean Martin for open air concerts, and for three years running with Ireland’s RTE Concert Orchestra.

 

Mark Halliday

Mark HallidayMark’s theatre credits include Me and My Girl at the Theatre Royal, Lincoln; Aspects Of Love by Andrew Lloyd Webber;  Morty the Magician in Disney's new comedy musical Morty the Magnificent;  Hades, Lord of the Underworld in the Disney stage musical Hercules and the West End smash hit Spend Spend Spend. Mark's love affair with swing music began in 2004 when he played Dean Martin in ‘The Rat Pack, Live from Las Vegas’, touring European cities including Vienna, Zurich, Berlin and Singapore.

 

Alex Bourne

Alex BourneAlex is one of the West End’s most familiar faces. Credits include Buddy Holly in Buddy (London Palladium, Victoria Palace, US Tour) Only The Lonely at the Whitehall Theatre, Danny Zuko in Grease (Cambridge Theatre), Gaston in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Dominion), Dr. Frank N Furter in Richard O Brien's The Rocky Horror Show (national tour), Billy Flynn in Chicago (Adelphi), Khashoggi in The Queen and Ben Elton musical We Will Rock You (Dominion). Alex has been recreating the role of Dean Martin since 2001 in the Rat Pack (UK Tour and Strand Theatre, London).

 

Colin’s leading roles in West End theatres include: Soul Train at the Victoria Palace, Smokey Joe’s Café at the Prince Of Wales, Sweet Charity at the Victoria Palace, Hair at the Old Vic. Other theatre credits include Cameron Mackintosh's Five Guys Named Moe, Ain't Misbehavin', Cinderella, The Grapevine, and Hot Stuff for Bill Kenwright. As a lifelong fan of Sammy Davis Jnr, Colin has performed hits like Candy Man, What Kind of Fool Am I? to critical acclaim for years. As a consummate dancer, actor and singer he is able to truly bring the magic of "the world's greatest entertainer" to life.

 

For the past five years Mark Inscoe has wowed audiences worldwide as the one and only Dean Martin. He brought his performance to London’s West End in ‘The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas’ and with his ‘Deano Show’ has entertained audiences at corporate events for Sony, RBS, The Agent’s Association, The UK Gaming Association and many more. As a seasoned musical theatre performer Mark has taken many leading roles in the West End including SUNSET BOULEVARD, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, MACK AND MABEL, LES MISERABLES, SWEENEY TODD, EVITA, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. He’ll soon be appearing in the West End debut of ‘PRISCILLA – THE MUSICAL’ at the Palace Theatre.

Matt Ford

Matt FordMatthew first came to public attention in 1996 when appearing as American Jazz artist Harry Connick Jnr, on Granada TV's 'Stars in their Eyes'. In January 2001 Matt accepted the position of Principal Male Vocalist with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra and with them proceeded to tour all the major theatres throughout the UK and Ireland for the following 5 years. Matthew released his solo album in October 2006 to critical acclaim and was voted 'Best UK Male Big Band Vocalist' by readers of Big Band World Magazine. Matthew has performed with the Halle Orchestra and is soon to make his debut with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

 

Mike Neilson

Mike NeilsonMichael played the leading role of Dean Martin in The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas at the Strand and Savoy Theatre’s in London’s West End. Other West End credits include, The Professor in South Pacific, The 1988 Royal Command Performance, the Policeman and Teacher in Blood Brothers and appearing as Fagin in Oliver!  TV and film credits include, Rick Lamb in The Bill ( ITV ); the Man at the Palais in Lipstick on your Collar ( Channel 4 ), Charlie Mills in Goal ( BBC/SKY ), and Mr. Irving in Grange Hill ( BBC ).

 


Glenn won a scholarship to the prestigious Guildford School of Acting and gained a B/A Hons degree in Musical Theatre. Since then he has been performing in concert all over the world. He has performed for the Duke and Duchess of Wessex at Hampton Court Palace, has performed with Frank Sinatra’s guitarist, Lino Patruno in Rome, performed at the P.P.I. Music and Radio Awards, Dublin, the G-MEX Arena in Manchester and the famous 606 Club in London. Glenn performs with his own quartet and with The Kings of Swing/Absolute Swing. Glenn has recently been selected to perform for two of London’s longest serving Big Bands – Perfidia and The Mike Richards Big Band.

 

Straight from the 'Cool School' of Chet Baker, Mel Tormé & Nat Cole comes the stylish, smooth swinging voice of Iain Mackenzie. Iain is an experienced singer, who began his jazz training at Leeds College of Music & the Guildhall School of Music. He has gone on to work with some great bands including NYJO, the BBC Big Band and his own jazz quintet. He has also worked widely with vocal groups including Voxtet, The New London Jazz Voices, and the Kenny Wheeler Mirror Suite. As a session singer he has featured on a vast amount of publicity, adverts and film soundtracks including The Mummy Returns, Tomb Raider-2 and the recent anti-smoking campaign on ITV & Channel 4. Recently Iain had the opportunity to bring his vocal talent to a new stage with the hit show 'Kings Of Swing' and his debut album 'Twice On Sunday' (Jazzizit Records) has been getting airplay on Parkinson's Radio 2 show.

 

Michael studied acting, music and dance in his home of Australia. His theatre credits include Whistle Down the Wind, Buddy, The Rocky Horror Show and Elvis the Musical. He has appeared in commercials for Juicy Fruit, Cole Jeans, Kentucy Fried Chicken, Dulux Paint, Vicks, Cadbury and Toyota. He’s toured with Christmas Crooners, a tribute to Nat Cole, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra.
